So as I had bet with myself, Suou didn't actually manage to get off any killing shots at the train station. Seeing that this is part of a years-long pattern, I really hope she doesn't fall into that category of "anime women/girls who can kick ass but never do." On the other hand, she's not bad at hand-to-hand combat, as depicted in this episode. Clearly, though, she still needs more training. With Hei.

Who seems to be drinking even more and getting even more violent. Clearly there's a self-propagating cycle going on here (which the loss of his powers would tend to exacerbate, I'd think), though it's also clear that he's managed to keep his edge so far, somehow. Argh Hei どうしてだよ。

That was a funny, if slightly cruel, sequence of Mao getting chased by a cat. For that matter, it was funny but slightly cruel of Hei to chuck Mao at the cops. I'm sensing a theme here. Poor Mao.

So Misaki has joined those contractors who analyzed Hei's power out of existence (possibly: I'm still not sure of the cause/effect relationships in that scene) and Hazuki manages to diagnose her entire psycho-sexual profile pretty accurately, if I'm translating the vocabulary right (and I'm fairly sure that I am): sexually frigid, but even though her lover doesn't look back, she keeps on dedicating her chastity/fidelity to him. Yup, that seems about dead on--as I'd expect from someone who kisses lots of random people against her will. Kind of hoping she winds up kissing Misaki, it might do her some good. So it seems like sex is a bit more prominent in this series, at least in light of the transvestite bartender and Suou's uterus pain causing her powers to manifest. At least I think it was uterus pain? And then there's the whole romance discussion between Suou and Mao in which she claims that she already is a woman. And the belly-dancing sequence. Though thinking of Hei doing that does make me smile.

And at the end we see that the national observatory has been shut down...but that doesn't stop Madam Oreiyu from meeting Misaki there. More action next time please, less of the random street toughs.

I did enjoy Hei throwing Mao. Not much else I can say about the episode till I get subs. :)

I was surprised that I was able to follow most of this episode...some are easier than others (like the third episode, most of that I'm still unclear on). I paused the scene with Misaki and Hazuki to make sure I was understanding most of what was going on.

Yup, I think Mao is the comic relief this time around. Such as it is.
